An extremely rare and ingenious kinetic trivet, "Mobile" model (code UT1822), designed by Walter Conti for Alessi in 1993 and included in the legendary Twergi historical collection.
The item represents a perfect example of organic and functional postmodernism, created to enhance the artisanal tradition of wood turning. The idea behind the project is revolutionary: thanks to 4 rotating wooden cylinders positioned at the base, the trivet can slide and move fluidly along the table to assist in passing hot dishes among diners.
The slatted structure is made entirely of maple wood with a natural finish, leaving the beautiful grain of the material on display, and is integrated on the upper part with special protective silicone inserts to thermally insulate the heat of the pots.
Vintage item in excellent overall condition, never used, without original packaging.
A hard-to-find collectible piece that has been out of production for decades, ideal for lovers of designer wooden items and for enriching the table with a unique, historical, and interactive accessory.
