We don’t always choose an object for the signature it carries. Sometimes, it is its expressive potential that captures our gaze: a shape, a character, a sculptural presence capable of entirely redefining the atmosphere of a space.
This large decorative papier-mâché mask, entirely hand-painted in the brown variant, is one of these rare research finds. The highly accentuated volumetric traits, bold features, and the texture of its uneven surface bestow upon it an almost theatrical visual strength. A piece of outstanding visual charm, ideal as an accent element in a contemporary interior.
The artwork, by an unknown artist and period, is in good vintage condition.
