A stunning mid-century modern ceramic wall relief plate designed in 1968 by the renowned artist Mari Simmulson for the Swedish manufacturer Upsala-Ekeby.
The piece features a stylized fish motif with deep glazed shades of blue, turquoise, and amber tones on a textured creamy-white background. In excellent vintage condition, stamped on the reverse with "UE Sweden", model number "8015 M", and the artist's monogram.
An early first-edition piece produced between 1968 and 1970, fully authenticated by the crisp 'UE Sweden 8015 M' stamp and Mari Simmulson's distinctive 'ms' monogram on the reverse. The original embedded metal wall hanger is perfectly intact.
A collector's classic of Scandinavian art pottery.
